How do we receive our photographs and how many will there be?
Your images will be put on a USB flash drive and will be part of a little package I will send out to you. They will be in two formats, high and low resolution. The high res images are great for printing and the low res and great for uploading to social media, Facebook, Instagram etc. You'll receive anything from 400 + images which are all edited by me. Your images should be ready anywhere between 4 to 6 weeks.
Will I also receive RAW files?
RAW files are the basic, unprocessed data from our professional digital cameras. In this form, images cannot be viewed on most home computers without purchasing and installing special software, nor can they be printed. If you walk into Office Works or Harvey Norman with a USB of RAW files, you will get a lot of confused looks! Even if your photographer was willing to turn over his RAW files, you wouldn’t be able to do much with them but put them on a shelf to collect dust. Most professional photographers, including us, do not give out the RAW files, and there are very good reasons for that. Remember, those RAW files are the equivalent of a rough draft. We want to give you the finished product, the images that we have used our talent and skill to transform into the photographs you will be proud to display in print, or put in your wedding album.
Do you work on your own or do you have a second photographer?
No. I actually prefer to work with a second shooter as I believe two pairs of eyes can capture a variety of different images, angles and perspectives. You'll often find my hubby, Stephen, as my second shooter.
What are your fees?
For pricing and packages just click on my pricing page.
Do you have public liability insurance?
I sure do.
Would you travel outside of Sydney?
Absolutely! Travel within two hours of Sydney is included, however travel outside of this will incur a fee. I'm more than happy to discuss this further upon request.
Would you travel outside of Australia?
Without a doubt. I think that would be pretty awesome! Get in touch and we'll work out a quote.
How about same-sex marriage?
Looking forward to my first one!
Why don't you offer 4, 5 or 6 hour packages?
When I was planning my wedding and looking for photographers I found these type of packages very confusing. I wanted to offer packages that were simple. Most weddings are an all day affair, so I offer three packages. You won't find Stephen and I at your wedding for 5 or 6 hours it's an all day coverage, from your ceremony until pretty much the end of your reception. A lot of good stuff happens when the dancing starts and we don't want to miss that! Besides I love to dance... you'll often find me dancing as I'm shooting on the dance floor. Having said I'm more than happy to cater a package to suit your needs.
Do you meet couples before their wedding day?
For sure! In fact I request it. I have a genuine interest in people and I truly believe meeting up for a coffee beforehand not only breaks the ice but we all get to know each other a little bit before your wedding. I want to hear about what kind of wedding you're going to have, your dress or suit (we'll have to block your partner's ears if you don't want him/her to know) and other wedding details. Also it's a good way for you guys to ask me any questions you have.
What is your style?
I believe my images reflect a relaxed, candid and natural style. I love documentary style photography where everyone is going about their day and I'm just a fly on the wall documenting it. I like to be able to tell a story with my photographs from beginning to the end. So you'll often see me in a corner somewhere shooting away.
When I take you both away for your portraits there won't be any cheesy posing... I will style you though, i.e. where to place your hand or arm, where to look but that is pretty much it and there'll be so much love circulating between the two of you on the day that it's going to happen naturally anyway.
What gear do you use?
I love my Fujifilm XT2 camera, and a Sony A73, they suit my style of shooting and it's great on my back and shoulders. Stephen uses a Canon 5D 3 camera along with a Canon 70-200 F2.8 mark 2 lens, Sigma Art 35mm 1.8, Canon 85mm 1.8 and a Tokina 16-28mm F2.8.
If there any other questions you'd like to ask me, don't be shy get in touch I'll be more than happy to answer them.
Thanks, Gerrie :)
